Middle School Announcement

The Arts Academy in the Woods Middle School began in the 2019-20 academic year and offers all of the small school and supportive community benefits of our high school. Using an innovative educational community and academic approach, our middle school students will be prepared for a seamless transition to high school.

Our all-new middle school curriculum will engage learners in a daily exploration using art and literature of how math and science have connected throughout history and how our human experience and desire to understand our universe has shaped how we conceive, communicate,  and create.

Our arts-integrated academic curriculum, is aligned with the guidelines of Michigan’s Content Standards or the Common Core State Standards. These standards are a set of learning expectations developed by parents, educators, business leaders and university professors to assist schools in the development of local district curricula. These standards and more detailed learning objectives called benchmarks are contained within the Michigan Curriculum Framework.
